As most people expected, Brazil knocked out arch rivals Argentina in the Copa America semi finals. A feisty game at times, Brazil played well and had that much needed clinical finishing which has been missing throughout the tournament, with both strikers Firmino and Jesus finally clicking. Argentina were poor and Brazil were simply the better team. Messi has now scored 4 goals in 20 knockout games for Argentina. Not very good. But he lambasted the referees after the game claiming it was bullshit. Reeks of bitterness. Your team isn't good enough Lionel, and nor are you for your country. Sort that out before blaming the referee.
Tottenham transfers are like London buses, apparently. You wait 500 days for 1, then 2 come along at once. After signing Clarke, a few hours later Spurs announced the monumental signing of Ndombele. A huge moment for the club. They've probably spent a large portion of their funds on him now and will have to sell before they buy, which I'm sure will happen. Trippier out, Aarons in from Norwich. Eriksen out, Lo Celso or Ceballos in. This summer is looking like it could be a brilliant one for Spurs. A huge step forward after taking a small one backwards last season.
Leicester are close to signing Tielemans permanently and Ayoze Perez. 2 signings which I think are actually really good for them. We saw the impact of Tielemans last season, and Ayoze Perez is a versatile forward who can score goals. He will offer a great option for them. It's going to cost them a lot though. Could it be because they know Maguire is off? Or have they just got money in the bank? Whatever it is, Leicester are making moves in the market.
Arnautovic handed in another transfer request. West Ham have told him he's going nowhere. Just let him go for God's sake. If he wants out so badly let him go and his performances towards the end of last season reflected that. Get some good money for him and buy a better striker. There are plenty of players out there better than Marko Arnautovic. Stop desperately trying to keep him.
Glad the transfer news seems to be spicing up and getting broader than just the same old Zahas and Ndombeles. I'll be back tomorrow with another post. See you then.
