Villa and Leeds are one step closer to the Premier League. Both have one goal leads, but you just fancy Leeds to do the job at home. I think the sending off of Dwight Gayle was a huge moment in the Villa game too. A 2-1 lead isn't something impossible to overturn. But without one of the league's top strikers, it will be a lot harder. As I said yesterday, it is best for the Premier League that one of these two teams come up.
Onto the final day of the Premier League. What has arguably been the best title race ever, is finally coming to an end. I don't expect many shocks to be honest. I think Liverpool will find it tricky against Wolves but eventually get a win. Whilst over at Brighton, City will just thump the Seagulls. Shouldn't be too many complications. I fully expect City to retain their crown. Oh well, too bad for Liverpool. 97 points and no Premier League title. Shouldn't have bottled a 7 point lead then. Try again next year. We went into the final few months of the race with people saying, 'expect lots of twists and turns,' 'it won't be easy, there will be lots of dropped points'. Couldn't have been more wrong. I'm not going to lie and say I expected both teams to be faultless, but i didn't believe there would be that many dropped points. Both teams are so, so, so far ahead of the rest. If they did drop points, they'd almost be disappointed. The 4 teams below them are nowhere near the quality of them. Where were they realistically going to drop points?
I think Spurs will get 3rd ahead of Chelsea. I don't see Chelsea beating Leicester and I think Spurs will scrape a win against Everton. Arsenal will draw away to Burnley and United will pip them to the much coveted 5th position. You never know though, Everton might beat Spurs 4-0 and Arsenal might beat Burnley 4-0 and and get that 4th place. Unlikely you say? You know what, I agree. So let's just move on.
There really is nothing much to look at with the Premier League. Everything seems to be wrapped up. Thank God we have all these delicious Cup finals to look forward to.
I will be back tomorrow to look back at the PL results. Although I don't think there will be much to talk about..
